February 6, 2020

Cancer belongs to the highest mortality reason in Slovakia. Can we do more in prevention, diagnostics and treatment? For sure, yes! The Biohub Slovakia as a project of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic- National Oncology programme, aims via support of the innovative health ecosystem to contribute to decreasing of oncology cases.

The National oncology register maps cancer incidence and mortality in Slovakia and compares it with the EU. On the interactive web page, you can select different criteria and, e.g. to see where is the highest incidence of colorectal carcinoma in Slovakia. You can also follow the forecast of the cancer incidence and mortality in future years.

The pilot version of the Register which is managed by the National Center of Health Information of the Slovak Republic is prepared by methodology validated by external organisations (International Agency for Research on Cancer – IARC, WHO). Worthy of having a look!
